Membrane Canopies for Serang, Cilegon, and Banten

Serang is the capital of Banten province, and its mix is fairly distinctive. There are government office complexes and public facilities in the city, industrial estates along the corridor running toward Cilegon, and a coastline close enough to change how outdoor structures should be designed. Those conditions rarely land together in the other cities we serve.

Government offices, public facilities, and sports venues

Work in an institutional setting has its own rhythm. Technical specifications must be answered on paper, procurement moves in stages, and the finish gets inspected at handover. We are used to preparing shop drawings, material specifications, and structural calculations in a form that can be attached to a submission rather than a sketch on a quotation. For public facilities such as office forecourts, waiting areas, plazas, and community halls, the usual ask is cover that stands up to crowd use without leaving the space below dim.

For sports venues, a membrane grandstand roof brings clear advantages: a long span over the seating with no columns interrupting sightlines, low weight on the supporting structure, and daylight still coming through so the field does not turn gloomy. It is worth separating covering a court from roofing a grandstand, because the two get mixed up early on. Covering a court means a single large span over the playing area, and the clear height has to suit the game rather than just standing room underneath. A grandstand roof cantilevers out from one side instead, so uplift at the cantilever tip is what drives the structure and footing sizes. The budgets can sit far apart, so we confirm which one you mean before pricing anything.

Coastal wind and the Cilegon industrial corridor

Serang and Cilegon sit near the western shore, and open sites here catch wind that no building breaks. For a membrane structure wind is the governing design load, and what needs checking is not only downward pressure but the uplift along the fabric edges. We calculate it per site, then adjust support count, fabric curvature, and footings accordingly. Being near the sea also means salt in the air, so the steel coating system and anchor selection should be settled at design stage, the same way we handle the north coast.

In the petrochemical and heavy industry corridor around Cilegon, the extra rules are plain: work permits, restricted-area procedures, and equipment limits. None of that is new to our crew, but it has to enter the schedule early so the working days quoted are realistic.
