Jakarta is the biggest and most demanding market for membrane structures. Building aesthetics run high, property management is professional, and almost every project happens on a site that stays operational. We are used to working under exactly those conditions.

Our projects in Jakarta

Four Jakarta projects are open to see in person. The membrane canopy at Plaza Bapindo at Mandiri Tower on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman meets CBD presentation standards. It was installed without disrupting building operations. The membrane structures at Pluit Culinary Park in North Jakarta cover a waterfront outdoor dining area. And two basketball court roofs: the court in Menteng and the HM Sampoerna court. Both are wide spans with no column on the court.

What Jakarta clients ask for most

• Commercial and office canopies: entrances, drop-offs, plazas, and rooftop areas.
• Cafe and restaurant membrane canopies, especially rooftops and outdoor areas that need shade without going dark.
• Parking canopies for offices, apartments, and retail.
• Sports court roofs: basketball, padel, and futsal at schools, apartment complexes, and clubs.
• Membrane facades and secondary skins to refresh older buildings and tame western sun.

What sets Jakarta apart from other cities is the share of commercial work. Home carports still come in, mostly from South Jakarta. But most of our work here is canopies for buildings, F&B areas, and sports facilities. More parties are involved, and the paperwork asked for is more complete.

Areas we serve in Jakarta

All five Jakarta municipalities sit within our daily range. The type of project depends heavily on the district.

• Sudirman and Kuningan: entrance canopies, drop-offs, and plazas at office towers. Our Plaza Bapindo reference stands on this corridor.
• Menteng: school and complex sports facilities, canopies for large houses, and restaurant terraces on older buildings. The look of those buildings must be preserved.
• Kelapa Gading: shophouse terraces, outdoor dining areas, and parking canopies at apartments and malls.
• Pluit and PIK: waterfront dining areas, parking canopies, and structures on reclaimed land with stronger wind and saltier air.
• Kemang, Kebayoran, and Cilandak: cafes and restaurants with gardens, rooftops, international schools, and home carports on narrow streets.

In Pluit and PIK, sea air calls for a higher grade of steel coating. That decision is made at the design stage. In Menteng and Kebayoran, building appearance rules are stricter. We shape and colour the canopy to sit naturally with the existing building. For court roofs like Menteng and HM Sampoerna, two numbers are agreed with the operator before design starts: the clear height for play, and the column distance from the court lines. Working in live buildings and precincts

Jakarta projects nearly always mean coordinating with building management: work permits, working hours, material routes, and public-area safety. Because our fabrication finishes in the workshop, time on site is kept to a minimum. For fully operational buildings, installation can be scheduled for nights or weekends.

The sequence usually runs like this. Once the owner approves the design, we prepare the documents for building management: working drawings, installation method, tool list, and a day-by-day schedule. Some managers ask for safety documents and worker insurance, and we provide them. A work permit usually takes one to two weeks. Material enters by the assigned route and hours, often through a basement loading dock. So we size the steel members to fit the goods lift or the ramp. For rooftops, we ask building management for the roof slab load capacity before design starts. Canopy supports must land on beams, not mid-slab. Noisy work such as anchor drilling is scheduled outside office hours. The work area is cleaned every day because it sits right beside employee and visitor traffic.

For night work, we estimate the duration realistically. An installation that takes two days on an open site can take four to five nights. That happens when each night offers only a five-hour working window. We write that number into the schedule from the start. No surprises for building management, and none for you.

Membrane canopy prices in Jakarta

Jakarta uses the same rate card as the rest of Greater Jakarta. The Essential package starts at Rp850,000 per m² installed. It fits carports and home terraces in Kemang, Kebayoran, or Cilandak. The Signature package starts at Rp950,000 per m² for cafes, restaurants, shophouses, and schools. That is the most common project type from Kelapa Gading and South Jakarta. The Custom Structure package starts at Rp1,050,000 per m² for wide spans and special forms: court roofs, membrane facades, and office plaza canopies. It is fully costed per design.

All prices exclude VAT. They cover the 3D design and structural calculation, the fabrication, and the installation. The minimum project value is Rp20 million, and it applies nationally. For example, a 15 m² carport on Essential works out to Rp12.75 million by per-metre maths. The applicable project value is still Rp20 million. Jakarta is inside Greater Jakarta, so there is no separate transport line in the quote. What can add cost in Jakarta is night work and special building management requirements. Distance is not an issue

Our workshop is in Sentul, Bogor, about ninety minutes from central Jakarta on the Jagorawi toll road. Surveys can be scheduled quickly, usually within days of your first message. For building projects, we combine the survey with a meeting with building management. The working conditions are then known from day one. Carports and simple canopies usually take two to four weeks from survey to installation. A mid-sized commercial project takes one to two months. A membrane warranty of up to 10 years and a 1-month workmanship warranty are written into the quote.
